As I'm fully aware that Developer As A Service is fundamentally bad for our mental health, I did exactly that for the last 6 months.
That put me down. Epic fail ! And worse... I knew it would happen.
However that is good news, I'm recovering my creative thoughts to code things that matter. Projects I spread here, on CodeProject, and on Codeplex are my greatest pride.
Stopping to write and to code things for the community was my biggest mistake.
From now I'll spend 80% of my time to get back the joy I had for programming.
The biggest proud as a developer is to see its work loved, I'll work now for the community, my work is yours, I think this is the best way I have to love my job again.

I'm agree with you. Our job has two parts: the lucrative and the creative. You definitly seems need more creative part, it's a fact.
So I'm waiting for your new articles.
